๐ Today's Word:
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someoneโs life, that personโs life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someoneโs life, that personโs life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.
Most people know what a watchman is. Dictionary defines it as a person who keeps guard over a building at night, to protect it from fire, vandals, or thieves or a person who guards or patrols the streets at night. In biblical days, it was not much different. A watchman stood guard over the city to warn of on coming doom. But as I read the verse I seen something that can be overlooked by many. So who is the watchman? God's word is described as a sharp double edged sword. Blowing the trumpet is preaching or witnessing the word of God to the lost. If every believer does not blow the trumpet, the lost will die in their sin. Isn't that what is said in the verse. That personโs life will be taken because of their sin. But read the last verse carefully. But I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood. So who is the watchman? Those believers in Christ who know the word and the coming doom for the lost. Are you doing all you can to spread God's word? Will you be held accountable for someone you had the chance to witness to.
๐ Today's Prayer:
Father, may I be filled with your word and blow the trumpet with confidence to the lost. Amen
Father, may I be filled with your word and blow the trumpet with confidence to the lost. Amen
Our Hope is that you walk away with a Blessing!!
