Back when I was in law enforcement, I have heard many criminals say they were sorry for the wrong they had done, but many of them continue to be criminals. Did you know that most of the people in our jails are repeat offenders. They may feel sorry for their sins and crimes, but no real change has ever taken place. These criminals did not change even though they said they were sorry. They continued on the same path of crime. True repentance is a matter of changing directions. Each person has the freedom to make a real change, and we can become victorious. We may not be able to do it by ourselves, but we can change with God's help through Jesus Christ. We must repent and change directions. Then we can truly move from the kingdom of self to the kingdom of God.
